Newport City Council has shown it’s commitment to local job creation ahead of the Friars Walk Jobs Fair on Wednesday 9th September.
Up to 400 jobs will be offered at the fair, which has been organised by the Council’s Work Based Learning Academy, Careers Wales, Job Centre Plus, Newport Now and Queensberry.
Newport City Centre is on the dawn of a brave new era. Great credit is owed to Newport City Council – along with key partners in Welsh Government and Queensberry developers – for turning a pipe dream into a reality. Real excitement is building ahead of the opening of the new shopping centre, and I wish all those applying for work there the very best of luck. Ultimately it is the public – retail staff, restaurant workers and shoppers – who will bring Friars Walk to life.
